Once In A Blue Moon Team Building

Cebu City, Cebu, Philippines

You think Mondays are worse? try working weekends, holidays, and an 11-hour shift. You wouldn't even care what day of the week it is, trust me. But whether you care or you don't, work is work and it demands struggle.

The team that I am in works as after office hours support, literally working after regular office hours and 7 days a week. Yes, you read it right! We rarely see each other as a team since we have different work schedules but we always make sure to organize a team building at least quarterly to catch up, bond with one another, and ease conflicts if there's any. So after ages of deciding where to go, the team finally agreed to spend a day at  Cebu Westown Lagoon which was just situated between Mandaue City and Cebu City.

Photos were taken from my GoPro Hero 4 but unfortunately, I didn't get lots of decent shots and most of the photos were either blurred or has water drops or spots on the
lens. I'm not a camera geek type of person and apparently, I need to spend more time reading and understanding this camera.

Isn't it nice to have a bar in the swimming pool? You might not see it clearly, but that's a bar right there behind with chairs underwater.

We started preparing our food as soon as we arrived then spent the rest of the day swimming, eating, and playing. Shout out to our very supportive service manager, Ina Marie who's playing the photographer.

My officemate, Chilla whom I call Papi and his son Papu. I remember seeing this little one roaming around the office just a year ago, he's growing so fast.

Team After Hours AKA Hybrid Team AKA The Scavengers

We pretty much enjoyed this once in a blue moon team building, did the same thing we did in the morning over and over again. We ate, swam, play, and repeat. I couldn't even remember how many times I've climbed and slid down the yellow slide, it was really fun except the part where I've unconsciously used my elbow as a brake because I was still scared to go down alone and ended up getting a small wound haha

Westown is definitely a good place to spend over the weekend if you're too lazy to drive out of town since it's just within the city (just beside MO2 for those who don't know where it is). Just a heads up, the other side of Westown is like a warehouse of some sort, the sound of the cargo containers being lifted is a bit annoying unless you wouldn't mind hearing the thunderstorm like the noise the entire day. I would still definitely come back though, it's not really a big deal.

Stay strong After Hours! 😊
