It's so good to finally go out, have an entire afternoon of pampering and have myself taken care of at RMU Aesthetic Clinic after nearly a year of DIY-ing everything. By everything, I mean everything - skincare, haircare to waxing, doing my nails, and all the other things that we're used to getting done pre-pandemic era.
Dr. Roma Ulama, an experienced Aesthetic Physician based in Cebu City recently opened her second RMU Aesthetic Clinic in Talamban. BASIC FACIAL
I had the Basic facial first (my favorite so far) which took nearly an hour or so to finish. It was so good that I could just lay there for another hour and do the whole thing again!
Almost all facials that I have tried all these years consist of four basic steps: cleansing, exfoliating, massaging the face and neck and applying a mask suitable for your skin type. Most salon facials are more complicated than that and more differences depending on the spa, your skin type, and your concerns. My assigned esthetician helped me onto the facial bed and covered me with a blanket and wrapped my hair with a band to keep my hair away from my face then got started with the pre-cleanse followed by exfoliation, extraction, steam, and more.
Ended the facial with a 24K Gold rubber mask. I think I was asleep half of the time this mask was on my face.
GLYCOPEEL
It was my first time trying Glycopeel or Glycolic Acid Peel. I am always skeptical when it comes to putting acids or anything that involves peeling and something too strong because my skin doesn't respond well to it. It is just too sensitive that I only use water-based toners and moisturizers.
The procedure was explained to me prior and I was advised of what to expect during and after the procedure which is important and won't leave you wondering what's happening to your skin and whether or not it's normal. It stung a bit as expected and my face started to peel after a few days.
If you feel any discomfort during the procedure, it's always okay to speak up and ask questions.
Glycopeel is ideal for anti-aging treatment, removing blemishes and dead skin, blackheads and whiteheads removal, and reducing pore size after several treatments.
PIMPLE INJECTION
This one is a pretty fast and simple procedure. It is also my first time having a pimple injection and I gotta say I'm impressed! I'm not acne-prone but I get bad breakouts too now and then like any normal girl or usually just a few days before my period. I got so obsessed with that pimple patch you can get at Watson's lol they work just fine but pimple injections will instantly dry if not completely get rid of the pimple the next day.
I had this new pustule on my chin during my visit - I know, perfect timing haha! The pimple got popped first before injecting it and viola! it's gone like it was never there the next day.

MESOLIPOTHERAPY
Lastly, I had Mesolipotherapy or fat-melting injection on both of my arms. My weight fluctuates, and I have excess fats on my upper inner arm specifically a.k.a the Bat Wings.
Mesolipotherapy is a technique that uses small injections (I hope you're not scared of needles 😅) of various vitamins and compounds to specifically target localized fat and cellulite deposits. I've read a lot of good things about Mesolipo and the results - not alone it's beneficial for fat loss and cellulite reduction, it can also help with tightening and firming the skin upon getting regular treatments.
While it's impossible to spot-reduce with just working out and diet, procedures like Mesolipo are surely a great aid to achieving the results that you want.
