What did I get myself into?

I recently got invited to speak at a seminar in Siargao during a college ICT week and I was too proud to see my name labeled as a Lifestyle blogger at Cebu Bloggers Society. Wait. What? Me? A blogger? Wow. 

I used to be that fat (I'm still fat okay but not as fat as I used to be 😅), shy and timid highschooler who would barely walk to the school cafeteria alone. Fast forward thirteen years, I write and share my personal experiences with people I don't even know over the web and even stood in front of 250 people to talk about blogging. 

My blogging story isn't really filled with cliffhangers to be honest. You might just get bored while reading this. I didn't really know what blogging is back then, I just created a Tumblr account so I could reblog the photos that I like, that's it. Anyone with Tumblr 6 years ago can relate to this 😁

I developed an interest in writing and sharing the stuff I do in life. I am not very good with grammar but I ain't that bad either (a little self love right here LOL). I write as I speak and didn't even bother impressing the people reading my blog.

I wanted to keep writing but I didn't have the drive. I couldn't get my creative juices flowing. I don't know what to write. I'm stuck. I couldn't really recall why exactly I was searching for bloggers in Cebu on facebook but that's how I came across Cebu Bloggers Society's page. I signed up and got accepted!

I asked my self, "Girl, what did you got your fat ass into?!"

During the first-ever Cebu Food Crawl (November 2015). I was lucky to be a part of the committee - I got really fat too. LOL

Attended my first event with CBS nervous. "What if people are not nice? What if blah blah blah. Okay. I won't talk unless I'm asked." So many what ifs. I was too scared to get out of my comfort zone. Well, I was wrong. Everyone was so warm and friendly. It felt like a gained an instant family.

Being with Cebu Bloggers Society has been transformational and life-changing for me. I learned the technicalities of blogging, survived stepping out of my comfort zone and learned to face my fears (trust me when I say my knees will instantly feel like spaghetti noodles as soon as I speak in front of a crowd 😂) and of course, I gained new friends!

Cebu Bloggers Society has been around for already a decade and we will all be raising our glasses to that! Wohoooo! We've been through hell and back, we have a lot of imperfections and differences. It's just been ten years, we still have a lifetime to become better and  stronger than we are today 💓
